About the Program

In UMGC’s environmental health and safety program, you’ll learn to implement evidence-based professional practices to support a safe and healthy work environment.
The bachelor of science environmental health and safety requires the successful completion of 120 credits of coursework:
  • 41 credits in general education requirements 
  • 36 credits for the major; 18 of these credits must be earned in upper-level courses
  • 43 credits in the minor, electives and other degree requirements.
This major includes 6 credits of required related coursework that may be used to satisfy the general education requirements or electives.
