About the Program
The business systems and processes (BSAP) major provides a strong technical background in applied information systems while emphasizing the business knowledge and analytical skills necessary to successfully analyze big data to make informed decisions that impact performance.
The BSAP major focuses on empowering students with hands-on experience in ERP designs, configurations, and applications to help IT organizations and end users and improve operational efficiency, effectiveness, and security. Specifically, students in this major will be able to define and explain ERP concepts, processes, and values in an organizational environment; utilize an ERP system to manage a variety of business functions and an organization; generate business intelligence using ERP to support decision making; and help organizations drive operational and process effectiveness and efficiency. Courses include hands-on training in SAP, SAP Lumira, and Salesforce. In addition, students gain insight into process automation and learn tools like UiPath.
With the BSAP major you will:
- Learn how to manage integrated business processes and make decisions that transform business environments and practices.
- Be trained in the market-leading SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and earn the SAP Recognition Award.
- Gain both the technology and business skills needed to position yourself competitively in the employment market place.
- Become qualified for careers in business with positions such as systems analyst, operations analyst, master data analyst, SAP consultant, among others.
Business systems and processes (BSAP) is a screened major. Students are admitted to the major only after successfully completing a set of required courses with a grade of C or higher in each those courses and an overall GPA of 2.00 or higher.
The requirements for admission to the major are:
- Formal admission to TU as a degree candidate
- Cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher for all course work
- Grade equivalent of 2.00 or higher in each course required for admission to the BSAP major
- Minimum grade of C or higher ALL of the courses required for admission to the BSAP major: ACCT 201, ECON 201, ECON 202, ECON 205, MATH 211 (or MATH 273), LEGL 225
No more than two courses may be repeated, of which no more than one course may be repeated twice.
Degree candidates intending to major in business systems and processes are designated as “pre-business systems and processes” (PBSAP) until admission into the major.
Once you have been admitted to the major, you may enroll in upper-level required BSAP courses. Your admission status will be sent to your TU student email account at the beginning of each term and right before registration. You are strongly encouraged to meet with your assigned adviser each term to evaluate your progress in completing the requirements for admission to the major and the degree.
Students who take upper-level “majors-only” CBE courses before being admitted to the major do so at their own risk.
