About the Program

The B.A. in Geography and Environmental Studies focuses on the ways humans shape and experience space, place, and environment, including issues of social justice and power, environmental sustainability, and urban planning, with application of geospatial technology to research questions across all areas of interest. There is a common focus for all students in the Department of Geography and Environmental Systems on the importance of coupled natural and human systems and on spatial patterns in relation to human activities and their social and environmental consequences.
