About the Program

Take center stage or work behind-the-scenes and live out your passion for the arts.

Join a new generation of storytellers. Theatre is about telling stories. From heartfelt human experiences to epic flights of fancy, you'll take each audience member on a journey to see life from a different perspective.

Join a Theatre and Dance department that includes Tony award-winning, playwriting and Broadway-producing alumni! Whatever your specialization, you'll gain plenty of real-world experience to prepare you for the professional field!

In FSU’s Department of Theatre and Dance, you will receive pre-professional training in acting, design/technology and theatrical studies. Our creative and comprehensive classes and engaging production season allows you to participate in real-life experiences that foster in-depth knowledge about the art and business of the theatre profession. Our department also encourages and celebrates cultural and stylistic diversity throughout our performances and overall program.
