About the Program

Message from the CMT Program Coordinator

Hello and welcome to the website for The Construction Management Technology (CMT) Program at UMES, which is the only ACCE accredited construction program in the State of Maryland. The Construction Management Technology program is designed to develop a capable and knowledgeable workforce, and to prepare interested participants for job opportunities in the field of construction. The program focus is on practical aspects of the technology, offering a flexible pathway for students’ success, combining the technology transfer measures with practical industrial experience, with emphasis on successful operation of project management, and Green Technology implementation. In particular, the program focuses on the design, construction and maintenance of residential and commercial structures.

Students can either enter the program directly from high school or take basic qualifying courses at neighboring community colleges, or any other universities and have their courses transferred to CMT program. CMT enjoys the support of an Industry Advisory Board (IAB) in developing the most suitable training program to accommodate today’s industry requirements. All participants are required to have a minimum of two summer internship sessions to satisfy for their practical experience in the field of construction.

We hope you enjoy reviewing the information and website we have provided about our Construction Management
