About the Program

The Adventure Sports Concentration is a collaborative program with Garrett College in Western Maryland. It is one of the few such programs in the nation and is a Common Market Program for many states, such as South Carolina, West Virginia, and Virginia.  This permits the student to enroll as an in-state student at in-state tuition.  Students have several options in completing this program, such as: 
  • Taking classes on both campus
  • Beginning at Garrett College and transferring to Frostburg State University
  • Beginning at Garrett College and completing the AAS degree and transfer to Frostburg State University to complete the remaining 3 semesters to complete the BS degree.
  • Beginning at Frostburg State University and then completing courses at Garrett College
  • Beginning at Frostburg State University and completing the concentration and then transfer or “reverse articulate” the Frostburg general education credits to Garrett College to complete the AAS degree.

Articulation Agreement

An articulation agreement is a written agreement between two or more academic institutions that outlines a transfer plan for the completion of coursework between their programs for students.
