About the Program

Welcome to the Department of Biology at Morgan State University. The department, composed of a vibrant and forward-thinking group of scholars, is dedicated to providing our students with a comprehensive foundation that will enable them to become professionals within the life sciences and STEM workforce as innovators of tomorrow.

The department offers degree programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level including a Bachelor’s degree program in biology, a Master’s degree program in Integrated Sciences, and a Ph.D. program in Bioenvironmental Sciences.

Both undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to engage in academic research with access to various cutting-edge technologies and research facilities, develop their critical thinking skills by engaging in scientific seminars and courses that analyze scientific literature, and develop their personal and professional skills through various career-focused workshops and interactions with alumni who are in the biomedical or STEM workforce.

Through the academic and associated extracurricular activities, students who earn their degree from the Biology Department are well-prepared to pursue advanced degrees or enter into the biomedical workforce.
