About the Program
The major in accounting combines theory and practice to help prepare you to analyze and report on the economic activities of organizations. You’ll develop skills in managerial accounting, budgeting, accounting systems, internal controls, financial analysis, financial reporting, internal and external auditing, taxation, and international accounting.
The bachelor of science in accounting requires the successful completion of 120 credits of coursework:
- 41 credits in general education requirements
- 36 credits for the major; 18 of these credits must be earned in upper-level courses
- 43 credits in the minor, electives and other degree requirements.
This major includes 27 credits of required related coursework that may be used to satisfy the general education requirements or electives.
